THE EASTON GROUP LLC

Business Finance Counselors & Consultants
Independent • Experienced • Focused • Objective

"I want business to survive, and ultimately prosper, from the way they manage their
business borrowings".

- Kenneth P. Easton, Jr.

The Easton Group LLC (the "Provider") offers both Counseling (usually limited to the Northeastern United State) and direct Consulting (Nationally). Each service involves Engagement and Confidentiality Agreements.  For specifics regarding engagement information please click "Contact Us".

Counseling involves a direct one-on-one engagement (short-term meetings) with the Client. A minimum of two hours is required but counseling may extended to a few hours or a day or more - considering the wishes of the client. The Provider will discuss and evaluate those business financing issues that are of concern or may be crucial to the client. At the conclusion of the counseling session involved parties have no further obligation. Counseling is usually the quickest and least expensive (hourly rate) way for a client to determine and clarify issues that may be relevant - as well as identifying options and opportunities the may be beneficial to the specific situation. See the below for counseling details.

Consulting is the active participation of The Easton Group LLC, usually over an extended period of time, advising and interacting with a client with regard to specific business's financing challenges. The Provider is usually immersed daily in necessary internal and external details, as well as relationships, pertaining to identifying opportunities or detriments to achieving desired financial solutions. While more expensive than counseling (retainer or optional basis), the Provider works directly, and over a period of time, with the client; as well as the client’s attorney and associated professionals. In many cases, a variety of commercial lenders, in tandem with the Provider, may also be involved in achieving satisfactory forbearance arrangements or refinancings involving innovative loan restructurings. While not an agent or employee of the client, the Consultant usually exercises wide latitudes, with permission of the Client, seeking to achieve the necessary objectives. See the below for consulting details.

Kenneth P. Easton, Jr. is a business finance counselor and consultant, a former senior commercial lender, author, seminar leader and event speaker. During 40+ years in the business finance field he has worked extensively with businesses of all sizes (start-ups, small businesses and mature corporations). Businesses served are represented within a host of industries and throughout the United States. He has also been a consultant to commercial lenders and state agencies. Ken is the author of "$urviving Your Business Debt"; a 5-star Amazon review rating and award winner.

At the conclusion of your one-on-one session, Ken will present his observations and recommendations. You have no further obligation. Should you wish others be present at your counseling session – they are invited. At the commencement of our session a one-page Letter Agreement will be provided to be signed by both parties. This Agreement signifies, among other things, the general mission of our session, that confidentialities will be maintained, and that guarantees; as to session results or subsequent client successes, are not offered nor are they to be implied.

The Counselor seeks only to point out options and complications that may not have been considered. The Client may simply be too close to the circumstances (or opportunity) to recognize avenues available. Then again, the Counselor’s significant commercial finance and business experience may enable him to point out various avenues of action and considerations that the Client may not have the necessary background to recognize.

Within the counseling time agreed to, the Counselor will provide his thoughts and observations relative to those business financing and related issues the Client wishes to discuss. The Counselor is not going to tell the client what to do. Considering Counselor’s input, the Client may then decide what avenues, if any, are appropriate. Client is advised to consult legal counsel, or other appropriate professionals, prior to taking actions arising from this counseling.

Business counseling will be priced at an hourly rate. A minimum counseling session is two (2) hours. You will be provided with a "paid" receipt with payment due at the end of the session. Should a client seek additional counseling time; at this session or regarding future or continuing engagements, such may be mutually arranged. For locations more than 50 miles from Manchester NH, travel and out-of-pocket expense reimbursements apply. Sessions may be conducted at your business or at another convenient location. Under special circumstances telephone or e-mail counseling may be considered.

The Easton Group LLC does not offer nor provide consumer credit counseling services.

Direct Business Finance Consulting

The Easton Group LLC ("Provider") may be engaged by business owners and business management teams (Clients) to provide focused on and off-site business finance consulting.

Scope of and estimated duration of services will be mutually determined by the Client and Provider. Engagements may involve a borrower's current financial situation; strategies and tactics to address, stabilize or improve a situation, lender/borrower mediations, funds sourcing, emergency courses of action, guarantee considerations, etc. We may, at your direction, also collaborate with your associated professionals.

In certain situations, and to achieve a favorable outcome, the current Lender(s) may need to be replaced through solicitation or other agreed upon methods during this process. In other cases, of course, the current lending relationship may be sought to be preserved or rehabilitated.

It is expected that scope of the consulting services would relate to the business borrower's current situation. The borrower may be addressing current loan or lender difficulties. The borrower may also be preparing for future borrowing opportunities; either voluntarily or out of necessity.

Engagement Flow:

  • No Obligation Pre-Qualification
  • Agreement as to Scope and Engagement Objectives
  • Letter Agreement
  • Initial Client Meeting(s)
  • Document review and exposure assessments
  • Optional Solutions Chosen to Achieve Objectives
  • Tactics Ratified and Time Lines Defined (Client Approvals)
  • Stabilization, as necessary, of a Critical Borrowing Situation
  • Action Implementations
  • Periodic Progress Evaluations
  • Current / Replacement Lender Negotiations
  • Replacement Lender Selection Process
  • Acceptance of Selected Lender
  • Proposal Comparative Evaluations
  • Commitment Letter, Loan Documentation, Evaluation & Execution
  • Post-Closing Considerations

Fees for such services, to include out-of-pockets expenses, as well as the scope and duration of services, must be determined on an individual case basis. Hourly, per diem, flat fee and retainer programs may be considered. Engagement and Confidentiality Agreements are executed.

We will work closely with your legal counsel, accountant and other associated professionals as directed.
